I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computational Language Modelling & Cognition (2026) at The University of Trento, Italy and I bagged a Bachelor's in Linguistics and African Studies from the University of Lagos (2021). I am also currently the Lead Linguistic Data Officer at Lelapa AI and a Board Editorial Member on Digital Innovations and Arts at the British Council.

My language work and interests focus on African languages incorporation in technology and their documentation and digitisation, through lexicography, advocacy, and policy design. Since 2018, I have led, championed, or been engaged in several projects to help improve the revitalization of African languages on the internet, and their usage in modern technological tools.

In 2019, I designed the first African indigenous crossword game, YoobaLingo.

A Yoruba language based crossword game which is now used in teaching and learning the language. I also interned at YorubaName— the first online multimedia dictionary of Yorùbá, which has become a public repository of names of the Yoruba people.

In recent years, I have collaborated with a number of researchers and language enthusiasts across the globe in the creation of some of the high quality text, speech, and annotation datasets across several African languages.

I have also led the development of a new equitable data license which set data communities as an important corner piece of AI development. I am a member of several Africa based NLP research foundations such as Masakhane, Deep Learning Indaba and others which have been frontiering NLP and AI research on the continent.
